During our journey, we are going to travel down several roads towards not just PCI compliance, but a better understanding of all aspects of cardholder data security.

Most merchants are aware of the need to be PCI DSS compliant. Some may even know about the Visa® Inc. mandates concerning payment application compliance and the Payment Application Data Security Standard. And even a rare few might bring all three roads together and have an awareness of PTS or PIN Transaction Security. However, for most merchants these roads are unfamiliar. They are "less-travelled."
