As a Vendor Rep in retail stores I use a tablet to aid in finding product information for customers, to demo technologies. I find a tablet in hand to be an valueable tool for immediate answers and provide "how-to's".

Yeah, but 1% of best buy's customers is still a lot of people.

Just a guess, but since it only affected online customers and there was a delay, I am guessing it was an integration to their main system that broke. Many people put the strength in the core systems, but run the integrations on a under-powered server.

Thank you for good tips! We`ve chosen the software that has those features.
We`ve been using it for a year. I`ve tried free ones but they dont have as many features as the paid ones have. So, take into consideration everything that is really important in your business.

Best Regards,

Robert

A very important post to remind retailers of the stark reality on increasing theft. As we head into the holiday season, fighting employee theft becomes critical and retailers need to deploy ID technologies that can't be swapped, shared, stolen or forged and maintain tight control over the point of sale and return process. Technologies that can also create concrete audit trails, reduce shrink, improve loss prevention and increase efficiencies. Biometrics is one such technology, and there are now biometric ID interfaces that work seamlessly with leading POS software systems. Its time for retailers to at least evaluate biometric technology for all its merits and advantages.
